It’s 7 am, the alarm rings. My husband stands up to prepare himself to go to work. The baby still sleeps and the only thing I can think about is “Please, just 5 more minutes”. Somehow sometimes it feels like there’s a piano over my body and it’s really difficult for me to stand up and finally start my day with productivity. After I had a baby, things got more difficult, especially with the sleep deprivation and all the obstacles that a new mom has in the first months of her baby’s life.
Once I stopped breastfeeding, I was able to establish a routine, and, even though things looked easier, my biggest battle was against myself, trying to get the morning mood and finally, start the day. So after searching and trying thousand different ways to get motivated since the first minute of my day (and failing miserably), I finally broke my code and discovered how to be as productive as possible on my week days. Here are the tips!
Prepare your bed!
I know it sounds cheesy, but it’s true. Once the bed is clean and organized, going back to bed is not an option anymore, so this is basically the first step to stand up and don’t sleep again! Buy some nice bed sheets, create a nice decor that makes you proud of your bedroom, this will inspire you to organize it every day and feel proud of your work.
Take off those pyjamas!
It doesn’t matter if you don’t have any plans to leave the house today, take off those comfy pyjamas and wear something casual, that makes you be prepared in case you need to leave the house or if a visit comes without you expecting it.
Leave the Social Media for later…
Spending time looking at others people’s life during your morning is not healthy (unless you work with that), start your life before you check on the others, okay?
A drink to wake up for life!
I always start my day with a glass of cold water with the juice of half a lime inside. And after that? My beloved everyday coffee. This will make you realize that your day really started. Nothing is better than a fresh coffee in the morning.
Sports may help you to sleep better through the night!
When you stay home during most of the time, you don’t burn as much energy as you would if you were working somewhere else. Any kind of extra activity can help you to burn your extra energy and make you get tired enough to sleep through the night. I started Zumba 3 months ago and already could feel the difference. Even if you can’t afford a gym, just take a walk until the supermarket instead of taking the car already helps a lot. You will feel your body waking up and actually moving under some sunlight and fresh air.
Those tips changed my life, I’m really satisfied with the results I got since I applied those rules to my day. I hope this post helps you with your life too!
